What Is Stroke Index?

Stroke Index (sometimes shown as S.Index or Index) is a number from 1 to 18 that tells you how difficult each hole is on a golf course. • 1 = the hardest hole on the course • 18 = the easiest hole

Courses use Stroke Index to decide where you receive handicap shots. For example, if you get one extra shot on the hardest hole, that would apply to the Stroke Index 1 hole.

Why do some courses show missing values?

Some clubs don’t publish their slope or stroke index data, or the data just isn’t available.

If you notice missing or incorrect values, simply let us know, we can update or add these details to the course as soon as possible.
